What ending does the filename have?
It should have .dmg, which means DiskiMaGe. Upon double click a virtual drive shows up and you can access its content. It is commonly used by Mac and the functionality is build into the OS.
What program tries to open it? It should be the DiskImageMounter from the OS, but it is possible that (for whatever reason) a different program claimed the default action.
Lucky we have a system to bypass this easily. Select the .dmg and open the File menu of the Finder. Select open with and look for DiskImageMounter.
It should open now.

i know it might sound funny but i dont know where to find the end of the file name. i guess right click isnt my freind on mac. anyway the message i get is
cant decompress/volumes/lineage 1 episode 6/lineage.app/contents/resources/text/ghostkl-e.html.gz
then when i press ok i says it cant load previous file pack.
so im still fooling around with this new system im not used to so i should get it soon.

On Mac "right-click" is CTRL-Click :)
and you can get File properties by pressing "apple" - I

Odd, the current official version does not come compressed.
Where did you download that version?
The official link is here: http://www.lineage.com/downloads/download_game/
When you download and open it, it mounts a virtual disk. The client is on that disk, ready to use. Theoretical you could use it from there, but since we need to download updates the DMG will be to small. Drag and Drop the client to Applications or Desktop. Done.
Just curious, what version of Mac OS X are you using?
