Anyone from the UK would be better doing the lineageone link as it will be much closer to your location then the lineage.com site.

This is just my view as I get a MUCH slower download on lineage one then I do on lineage.com and I am in the US.

OK, all nice for the folks using Mac living closer to LineageOne.com. I play on a Mac and PC, and PC download from first link 340kb/sec and is only to take 2 hours. Loading on my Mac from Roos site (better than nothing) downloading at unknown rate that will take 6 hrs and 57min to download. Surely one could expect better speeds for Mac users and a link HERE at NC. I am on 10MB download and 3MB upload cable too btw. I'll be at work and when this finishes. Hope you can post a USA site that will allow me to download faster on my Mac.

well for me, I downloaded the mac version of lineage from LineageOne.com, and then I tried to open up Lineage from my dock to let it update, and it said

"Error

and when I press ok it says

no idea what I need to do. And yes, I deleted the old lineage from my computer before I downloaded the new one.

I'm afraid troubleshooting for your particular problem will have to wait until tomorrow morning; I don't know what would cause that error. All I can suggest is uninstalling everything and trying again.

Short answer: No

Long answer:
The pledgeemblem is uploaded to the server and from there distributed to everyone who see them, when the player sees a members of that pledge first time. That copy will be in a local database. What possible could happen is that your emblem is still in the gamefolder, where it was needed to be abel to upload it. This you should save somewhere, in case you ever need it to upload again.

Your emblems are stored as bmp files within your client. On Mac they are in Lineage.app/Contents/Resources/

spent 4 hours downloading the pc version last night. installed, and the client keeps crashing. re-installed, client crashes every time before you get to log in screen.

decided to download the mac version before i went to bed last night. woke up this morning, incomplete download. started again, went to breakfast, incomplete download. (think it has to do with my computer going to sleep). changed sleep options, and starting the download for a 4th time. 2 hours to go x.x

decided to download the mac version from lineage. 1 time it stalled @ 1.1gb (2am or so) 2x it stalled @ 200mb (8am). 3x, it stalled @ 415mb (10am). i was unable to resume the download, it started fresh each time.

decided to try the pc version again just now. after a 3rd un-install and re-install was able to get it up and running.

like i said, a comedy of errors ^^

i found a friend with DSL and it now says 3 hours till download i found the the problem is with satellite internet you are only allowed to download 200 megs per 24 hours and if you continue to try to download past that you are only allowed 1 KBPS for the rest of the download so my 900 hous download would have taken just the long. but i am on a friends internet now only had to drive 70 miles to borrow it. but i am going to be on lineage tonight if all goes according to my plans. see you all tonight

i thought you got the 1 with 256 of vram. then a week later they doubled it. i had the same model, and was glad when my logic board blew. then i was able to take it back to my local store and upgrade it for the new one ^^

it is the 32 bit version of vista ultimate. it was free from a pal at ms, and i wanted to do it for the sake of learning. figured i would play lin as an added bonus since the pc client is much better. i do right click on the launcher and play as an administrator.

for the record, it is running on vista now. i will attempt the mac download this afternoon. i want to like it better than the pc version, we shall see.

From my general experiance (at work), XP is the best windooz. Those here with Vista say bad words a lot.....seems like they are always re-installing OS and complaining (until they see me, a know Mac-guy) and they say all is wunderful :D md

After installation you do not have desktop icon for Lineage you can launch the game with?

How about start -> programs menu? There should also be folder for Lineage containing the shortcut to launch the game.

If both of the above are missing, navigate to the folder where you installed the game and locate file named lineage.exe - right click that file and select "create shortcut". A shortcut will be created in the folder. Now cut and paste this newly created shortcut to example on your desktop where you can then launch the game from.

You might also want to edit the shortcut's target line to have /us in the end and for you it would then look something like:
"D:\program files\lineage\lineage.exe" /us

If some of the above worked, you should be able to launch the game. If you are however missing the lineage.exe entirely, then something has gone wrong in the installing process. In that case you might want to uninstall the newly installed Lineage by going to Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> Lineage -> uninstall.

After successful uninstallation, delete the folder of the previously installed Lineage and try to install the game again. If there's still problems, you just have to wait for NC's support or Lyzira to help you further :-/

i tried all of that but the lineage.exe file is not on my computer i searched everywhere and could not find it so i did unistall and am currently redownloading the game i left it at my friends house over night to download i will go check it tomorrow and i hope that the new download is complete. if not i hate to say it but i might have to wait till i get the disc from NC cause my internet will not allow me to download the game at my house.

Ah, I hoped you'd have had the downloaded installer still somewhere saved, so you would not need to redownload. If you have the disk space, you might want to keep the installer until you get the game working, or then burn it example to rewriteable DVD until you get the disk from NCW.

Difficult to say what might have been the problem in your case. After running the installer file, you should have all the necessary files in the folder you selected the game to be installed in the process - also the lineage.exe. Additionally the installer creates shortcut to desktop and Lineage folder in your Start menu. If those were not in your system, then something had definitely gone wrong.

Well anyway, I hope the installation goes smoothly for you the next try. And if not, maybe NCW has fix for this figured out for you by then.

The "Can't Connect" message that you are seeing is what happens when the servers are down. This doesn't mean that your install isn't working, it simply means that for some reason, you aren't connecting to the game servers.

When you uninstiall this time. Go to Programs files and Delete the lineage folder (if it still there After a uninstall)

Thanks for the advice Anju! I tried uninstalling, deleting every folder that is related to NCSoft/Lineage, rebooted and then installed the client again. To no avail though :(

I'm running winXP SP3. I have no idea if it's 32/64/whatever bit. I'm already happy if I can find the start button :D

I had the same problem but my download resumed at midway, I did not have to start over, and it worked.

It's not generally a good idea to try downloading such big files without some kind of downloading program that allows you to resume interrupted transfers. Example for me when I was downloading the ep 6/U from NCW's server the speed suddenly dropped from ~600kB/s to around 20~40kB/s and only going worse, so the remaining would have taken ages -_- Happily I just switched the source to LineageOne and could continue the download with 600~700kB/s from almost where it was downloaded from NCW. If you're relying on the browser's built in systems and something goes wrong during the transfer you basically have to start over and hope everything goes flawlessly the next time while taking the long time to load that huge file.

The Lineage's download page (http://www.lineage.com/downloads/download_game/) has links to such a program for both Mac and Windows so I really recommend using something like that before starting downloading the installer next time. Can be a huge time saver already because of the ability to resume interrupted downloads as well as segmented/threaded download that may significantly speed up your transfer process depending on what you're downloading.

If you're not liking the GetRight Lineage download page is offering for Windows, another decent program (freeware for non-commercial use) is Metaproducts' Download Express (http://www.metaproducts.com/mp/metaproducts_download_express.htm). And if you like open source, Free Download Manager (http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/) does the trick for Windows. Other people seemed to have already compiled good list of these kind of programs for multiple OS in wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_download_managers), so if these examples given in this thread does not cut it for you, check that list for more options.

Good luck for the downloading however you decide to get it in the end.

i have never had to use a download program before and have downloaded larger files in the past. it is not my connection, i checked the logs of my router when i got up this am. i really dont know what the deal is. the pc version downloaded without a hitch (other than taking a looooong time).

everytime i have tried getting the mac version, it has been at night. i start the download before i go to bed, and it has failed at a different part, each time. all of my attempts have been from the lineage.com site, tonight i will try the lin1 site.

i really want to try the new mac client, since i have been told it is now on par with the pc client. to be honest, the only reason i installed windows on my mac, was i got a free copy of vista from a pal who works at microsoft. i had experimented with the pc client over the years, and once i got an intel mac this year, i was game to give it a go. i pretty much only boot into windows when i want to play lin.

i was able to download the mac client last night, from the lin 1 web site. i did nothing different from my other attempts, other than trying roo's sandbox. thanks to everyone for their suggestions and concerns. the in-game appearance from Lyzira yesterday, was very touching and very much appreciated. anyone that says she does not care about the players is full of it, and will have to answer from me!
