You said it youself, average doesnt always tell the whole story. In my first post I mentioned that as well... When it comes to max damage nothing out damages a blessed ags. When it comes to minimum, the bags sucks.

Either way the formulas we are both using mean nothing to what we are trying to prove. The rules of averages do not apply here. Everything you and I are saying is a theory on paper. We have to actually go out and use the weapons and take the numbers THEN find a median (which is solid numbers). The best we can do is guess, which is what the formula for averages is, a guess. What we want is solid numbers to get the actual median in practice.

Also, have you hunted with an asword for an extended time (longer than a 10minute session or 1 week)? Most veteran knights will tell you their experiences with an asword. You will get more normal deaths and and quick deaths against enemies than those slow deaths. I made the mistake a long time ago of "testing" the maph ret for 1 hunt and I didnt like it so didnt use it. It wasnt until much later I actually really used a maph's ret that I found out it is one of the most damaging weapons for a knight in the game, now I have one all the time.

Sure my formula shows the min and max, {min=(1+3+1)+max=(27+3+5)}/2 = 20 for b-asg on small mops for example. And your 19-24 min/max range is base of what?

If asword or asg were as good as you say, most high lvl VETERAN knights would use them instead of kvs or pk2h...Lol. Granted ags is best for CB.

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with you. But I realised yesterday we can talk about it all day long but instead I started a volley of damage tests.

Testing every viable weapon I can get my hands on. I'm going to run the tests with 500 hits with no buffs on a 45 knight with no equipment versus a mage with no ac and for the two handed swords I am going to test again summons and/or tames of large monsters.

This will take awhile so I'll post on my beginner's guide section my results.

Backagain- What server are you on? Have you done any tests with any weapons? Just wondering, we might be able to bounce numbers off each other for a better set of results.

If I can find an elf/dark elf willing to take the time to do damage tests with their weapons we might be able to get together a comprehensive set of data.
